→ Virgil & Louise Eady – David reports that his parents were in an automobile accident
Thursday night. They are very sore and Ms. Louise had some cracked ribs but they are
at home recovering.
→ SPLOST – The SPLOST law requires an annual report published in the newspaper by December

→ Volunteer for Service – Rev. Curtis Thomas of the N.C. Adventist Church stopped by the
front desk to ask if there were any projects in the city that his church could do as a
service project to help the city. I have been unable to come up with any ideas. Do you
have any suggestions??
→ Holiday Lunch – The city employees and I want to thank you for the holiday lunch and
briefing Monday. Here are a few pictures from Dave’s camera.
→ Delinquent Insurance Business License Collection Program – We have received a check
for $1,740 from GMA as part of their efforts to collect business license fees owed but
unpaid by insurance companies. We’ve scanned the letter explaining the program. Click here to view PDF

→ Oxford College Volunteers – Oxford College encourages its students to get involved in
community service projects. Tuesday, I met with the Crystal McLaughlin who is the Director
of Student Development and coordinates the volunteer program. She has three programs that
might work well with us. We’ll keep talking and get some in place starting in January with
more to follow with the new school year next fall.
• Service volunteers - about 2 hours a week.
• Bonner Leaders - funded by a Bonner grant -about 10 hours a week.
• General student volunteer service projects by a club or group of students.
