The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by the Hon.
Jerry D. Roseberry, Mayor
Mayor Roseberry announced the purpose of this Public Hearing is to provide
information about a Community Development Block Grant (CBDG) being applied for
by the City of Oxford. Matt Pepper
introduced Monica Sagastizado from the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission,
who explained that the grant being applied for is to replace a water main along
Clark Street, Hull Street, and Oxford Road.
Ms. Sagastizado presented information about the grant application
requirements and application process (Attachment 1).
The maximum amount Oxford can apply for is $750,000. The application process is very competitive
and based on a point system. An
environmental review is also required before the application can be
submitted.
Mr. Ready asked when the ratings would be determined. Ms. Sagastizado explained that the ratings
review occurs in August of each year and winners of the grants are announced in
September of each year.
There being no further discussion, Mayor Roseberry
adjourned the Public Hearing at 6:10 pm.
